Savanna Illinois Incentives

The City of Savanna sponsors several different Improvement Programs designed to help residents establish and maintain the pleasant appearance of their neighborhoods. Available Incentives (in alphabetical order) include:

Sidwalk Replacement Project

The city is also an Enterprise Zone and has Property Tax Incentives, Water Service and Sanitary Sewer Service Line for New Buildings.

8-1-5: PERMITS:

(A) No person shall construct, repair or alter a sidewalk without first obtaining a permit from the city.

(B) An application for a permit shall be filed with the city superintendent on a form provided by the city, together with such other information as may be required by the city superintendent. After determining that the proposed sidewalk construction, repair or alteration conforms to the applicable standards and specifications, the city superintendent shall issue a permit to the applicant. If the city is requiring the repair of a sidewalk , the permit shall state the date within which the work shall be completed. It shall be the responsibility of the owner to become familiar with the regulatory provisions of the City Codes governing sidewalks. The City shall provide the removal of the deficient concrete sidewalk and issue a purchase order for the cement materials, as well as provide fill, as needed to complete the sidewalk project. The owner shall provide a qualified contractor to pour and finish the cement - at his expense. Prior approval for contractor must be obtained from the City Superintendent. The owner shall be responsible for safety measures during construction of the sidewalk. Note.
